Swami Bharati Krishna Tirtha, an Indian saint and philosopher, was born in 1884 in Tamil Nadu, India. His original name was Venkatraman, and after taking sannyasa (renunciation), he adopted the name 'Bharati Krishna Tirtha.'

Swami Bharati Krishna Tirtha propagated knowledge based on Vedanta, Yoga, and the non-dual principles of the Vedas. He dedicated his life, particularly, to the promotion of Vedic Mathematics. Taking sannyasa at the age of 33, he focused on presenting Indian education and cultural philosophies globally. His teachings emphasized simplicity and ease in learning Vedic Mathematics.

 

Swami Ji's decision to embrace sannyasa was followed by a special commitment to present Indian education and cultural philosophies worldwide. His teachings were imbued with the spirit of discipline and service, and he instructed people in various principles of Vedic Mathematics to facilitate straightforward and easy calculations.

In 1960, Swami Bharati Krishna Tirtha attempted suicide in the United States, marking a tragic event that underscored his role as a significant warrior in the culture of saints.
